Key Responsibilities Include:
- Identifies pregnant women through outreach in the community and referrals from agencies and enrolls them in the appropriate services of the program.
- Publicizes the program to the community through one-on-one contact, health fairs and other special events.
- Maintains ongoing contact with pregnant women by telephone and home visits to provide emotional support, health information and referrals to health care and social services.
- Conducts screenings and assessments of program participants to aid in recognizing their needs.
- Serves as the pregnant woman’s advocate and accompanies her to health and social service agencies, in accordance with program protocols.
- Ensures women attend prenatal, parenting classes and support groups as well as other special/community events.
- Maintains complete and accurate records related to the delivery of program services, using a variety of manual and electronic data gathering tools.
Qualifications Include:
- Must be fully bilingual in both verbal and written Spanish and English
- Minimum of high school degree or GED. Completion of college coursework in a relevant field highly desired
- Previous work experience in social services a major plus
- Proven ability to establish and/or history of strong involvement in local community organizations
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong ties in Coatesville or Kennett Square and surrounding communities very valuable
- Must be detail oriented and possess solid organizational skills
- Valid Drivers’ license, car insurance, daily access to a car and cell phone required
- Ability to successfully complete criminal and child abuse background checks
- Capability to work flexible hours (minimum of one evening per month and average one weekend day per month to attend special events).

MCHC ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
West Chester, PA |
This position is responsible for providing administrative and logistical support to MCHC’s Program, Financial and Administrative staff. Greets and directs visitors, answers main telephone system, responds to direct requests for information and/or forwards messages to appropriate staff.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supports Programs by implementation of logistical aspects of Prenatal and Parenting classes, Car Seat Events, and Cross Cultural Caring workshops. Ensures adequate inventory of baby care items, participant health education materials, and data forms. Assists with establishing projects for volunteers to perform.
- Performs confidential administrative office duties including: copying, filing, document preparation, faxing, maintaining and updating of data bases, and bulk mailings using MCHC protocols/forms. Registers staff for professional development and training programs. Maintains list of employee training completed and generates reports as required. Books travel and hotel arrangements, as needed.
- Assists Director of Finance with maintaining and organizing materials for annual audit, employee benefits enrollment, and human resource activities. Maintains and updates accounting and human resource related hard and electronic filing systems, as well as staff rosters, vendor and funder contracts, accounts receivable and payable, audit documentation, and bank statements. Processes accounts payable and receivable in the timeframes established by MCHC”s Business Office policies.
- Under the oversight of the Director of Development, scans documents for inclusion in on-line proposals; copies and sends all proposals; obtains program statistics for reports; prepares individual mailings to donors and community; maintains copies of all program marketing collateral developed; maintains archives of publicity articles.
- Protects the confidentiality of all information regarding current and past program participants, as well as organizational operations. Provides other administrative support to Administrative Office staff as needed.
Qualifications Include:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to produce error free work products and proof read own work
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and quickly shift priorities to meet changing needs and compressed timelines
- No criminal or child abuse history as determined by a criminal background check, credit check and child abuse screening
- Minimum of Associates’ degree in a relevant field; Bachelor’s degree a plus
- Previous relevant work experience, including 2 years experience as an Administrative Assistant in a fast paced, team oriented environment
- Proficiency with use of Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook) and QuickBooks preferred
- Proven ability to protect and maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information

FAMILY CENTER
PART-TIME BILINGUAL
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

This position is responsible for providing administrative and logistical support to MCHC’s Family Center Staff. The position works closely with the Program Manager for Community Education to support Family Center services.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Performs basic intake, assist with Health Insurance applications, and provide referrals to community resources and all MCHC programs for Social Service participants. Provides case management, developmental screenings, and health insurance application assistance for PAT participants as needed.
- Assists Program Manager for Community Education to gather information for both on-going and ad hoc reports.
- Coordinates all aspects of “Kennett Square Kindergarten Transition Summer Program”.
- Coordinates logistical aspects of all Family Center group activities.
- Collects, gathers and enters data.
- Performs general office duties including: copying, filing, document preparation, faxing and bulk mailings.
- Maintains roster of volunteers at the Family Center and inform Administrative Office of current list.
Qualification Requirements:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective written, reading, and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish. Ability in these areas will be measured by oral and reading comprehension assessments.
- Proficiency with use of Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook)
- Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks
- No criminal or child abuse history as determined by a criminal background check and child abuse screening.
- Track record of working as a productive and cooperative member of a team.
- Willingness to accept supervision and make personal performance improvements as appropriate.
- Capability to work flexible hours (minimum of one evening per month)
- High School diploma required; Some College Preferred.
- Previous work experience, including 4 years experience as an Administrative Assistant in a fast paced, team oriented environment.
